Located in Fountain Valley, Mile Square Regional Park is one of the best places for families to spend a day outdoors. It is a 607-acre park that has multiple golf courses, two lakes, and tons of amenities.

Golf Courses
Located in the heart of Fountain Valley, Mile Square Regional Park boasts a variety of golf courses. The Classic Course and Players Course are both regulated 18-hole golf courses and are popular for weddings and other special events.
The Classic Course is a traditional layout that has plenty of trees and lakes to keep the game challenging. It’s also a very reasonable place to play a round of golf.
A 93-acre portion of the golf course at Mile Square Regional Park is set to be reshaped and turned into a variety of new uses, including walking paths, gardens, places for picnics and lakes. County officials say the move is meant to bring more recreation options to some of North Orange County’s poorer neighborhoods, where children need free or low-cost outdoor activities.
Soccer Fields
Mile Square Regional Park is a 607-acre (2.6 km2) urban park in Fountain Valley CA. It is home to two lakes, three regulation 18-hole golf courses, soccer fields, baseball and softball diamonds, an archery range, picnic shelters, and a 20-acre urban nature area planted with California native plants.
The city of Fountain Valley is in discussions with Goals Soccer Centres to convert one of the conventional soccer fields at the sports park, within Mile Square Regional Park, to a complex with seven lighted, all-weather artificial turf fields scaled down for games featuring five players a side. There would also be office, restroom and snack areas.
Wheel Fun Rentals is a favorite rental spot at the park, offering family rides on the iconic swan pedal boat or on the popular six passenger Surrey. The park also offers plenty of pathways to ride along on. Visit another area in town here.
Baseball & Softball Diamonds
Mile Square Regional Park Fountain Valley CA is home to two fully lighted baseball and softball diamonds. These are located in the recreation center and are suitable for regulation adult softball or youth and Little League baseball.
The park also offers three soccer fields, an archery range, fishing lakes, concession operated bike and paddle boat rentals, and lots of picnic shelters to choose from. The largest lake at Edinger and Euclid Streets is a popular spot for a day of fishing, and there are several other lakes scattered throughout the park.

Fishing Lakes
Mile Square Regional Park Fountain Valley CA offers a number of fishing lakes. Most of them are stocked with trout throughout the winter and are popular with anglers looking for a good catch in this area.
The largest lake, Freedom Lake, is located near Edinger and Euclid Streets. It features seasonal paddle boat rentals.
Another lake, South Lake, is adjacent to the sports complex and also has paddle boat rentals.
Fishing is a great way to spend a day at the park and the best time to fish is when the lake is freshly stocked with trout or catfish. The water may be colder at this time of year but success rates are high.
Mile Square Regional Park offers a number of other activities as well. You can visit the Archery Range, play a game of softball or take advantage of bike rentals.
Picnic Shelters
Mile Square Regional Park totals 607 acres of land and includes three regulation golf courses, soccer fields, baseball and softball diamonds, an archery range, two fishing lakes, concession operated bike and paddle boat operations, a wide expanse of picnic areas as well as numerous picnic shelters.
Besides being an excellent place for family gatherings, it is also popular with local youth groups and other community organizations who use the area for their annual company picnics or other group activities.
